Measure and re confirm the trim dimensions and add to 1 1 25 to 2 5cm to each. I typically use 5 4 trim for my plinth blocks. So creating a plinth block that stands proud of the door trim and baseboard give you some wiggle room to account for misaligned jambs and walls. Our plinth blocks are a great example.

The tall baseboards line up with the top of the plinth blocks which then line up with the door trim. We offer a complete selection of decorative surfaces accents crafted in exceptional materials. Below i made this craftsman plinth block wider than the flat stock door trim so the reveal between the trim and plinth block created a step a theme repeated in the baseboard. The recessed detail in the block echoes the paneled door and everything is painted a gorgeous dark gray for a cohesive look.

Keep in mind that a plinth block is there to offset the rest of the trim around the door so it needs to be slightly larger overall. Adding new doors to older homes is a challenge when it comes to installing door trim.
